Dieppe is a town with a long maritime history and provides an attractive alternative to Calais as a destination as there is good shopping facilities and it provides the most direct route to Paris from the UK.

The Castle Museum - Open everyday 10.00 to 12.00 hours and 14.00 to 18.00 hours from June to September. Open everyday except Tuesday from October to May and closes at 17.00 hours.
Loacted on a hill to the west end of the town the Castle Museum plays host to many works from French artists. Many works have a maritime theme in keeping with the town. The museum is also host to a unique collection of ivory carvings dating back to when the import of ivory was legal.

Town centre - The town centre of Dieppe has managed to maintain a large variety of small shops and supermarkets selling all the usual local produce and general goods. It is well worth a walk around and there are some excellent bargains to be found here. As you would imagine with any sea side town there is always a good range of sea food available.

How to get to Dieppe Ferry Port:
By Car
Dieppe is along the coast on the A28 from Calais and Le Touquet. It is a few miles outside of Rouen on the N27.
By Rail
Connecting trains for the ferry port arrive at the quay. The main SNCF station - with trains to and from Paris and Rouen - is on Boulevard Clemenceau, a 500m walk from the port.
By Bus
There is a regular bus service, which runs from the bus station alongside the port to other major French cities.
